I was born in Istanbul, Türkiye. I received the B.Sc. and the M.Sc. degrees in electrical and electronic engineering from Istanbul University, Turkey, in 1995 and 1999, respectively. Then I received a Ph.D. in high direct voltage measuring systems from Istanbul Technical University in 2006. From 1996 to 2001, I worked as a Research Assistant in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Istanbul University. Between 2002 and 2024, I worked at the National Metrology Institute of Türkiye (TUBITAK UME) as Head of the High Voltage Laboratory. Since 2024, I have been a Senior Scientist at the Metrology Institute MIKES under the Technical Research Centre of Finland, VTT. 

My fields of interest are high voltage testing, calibration, metrology, and accreditation of calibration and testing laboratories. I am involved in the international and national standardizations, mainly within the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) Technical Committee 42 and Turkish Standardization Institute Mirror Committee 144, high voltage and current test techniques. Since 2010, I have also been supporting to Turkish Accreditation Agency (TURKAK) as a lead assessor, assessor and technical expert for the inspection of calibration and testing laboratories about ISO/IEC 17025.
